Pen tool lets you Draw the curves with bezier handles and it helps designer to create the curves and edges according to their needs. One can easily use the Pen tool with Mouse to draw and create complex designs. 

 

It is the best tool Adobe ever introduced in their software. Many designing software nowadays include the Pen Tool in it for ease of creation. 

 

Pen tool is used to create selections as well, where the quick selection tool or the magic wand tool fails our champion can be used. But there are limitations to pen tool, like it cannot be used for selecting hairs, or leaves on the tree.
