Ideas for getting started are Necessary for beginners, even experts find it difficult to get good ideas for animation. As I am an animator too, I've come across creative blocks many times. But how to get out of Creative Blocks and get Ideas for working?
Here's my process of getting Ideas for Animation.

#1 Try Reading Stories

Reading stories may help you trigger your imagination and bring the visuals, characters, places, objects in your mind and you can try to recreate those parts of stories in your animations. But remember to give the proper credits to the authors as they may have gone hungry for days to write down that piece of literature.

Don't choose the story where there are around 150 characters, 30 locations, 300 dialogues and 1500+ objects to draw and animate.  Choose something very basic, with around 2-3 characters 1 location and very basic objects.

#2 Pinterest

Pinterest is a great source of ideas! you can get many ideas on pinterest there are many artists on this platform who create awesome content. And their library is so huge and has many great images to get you going.  There are even direct vectors and 3D graphics so you can use it for anatomy.

And as I've mentioned above, don't steal anyone's work. Give the proper crediting to the artist whose work you are using.

#3 Look around yourself.

There are many things going around you, you should carefully look around and think what would you like to animate? whether it be the Tap running in the kitchen, or a fly fleeing out of the window, or recreating your living room with no one in it. There are many things to look around and get inspired with. It's up to you where to begin. Personally I used the first method, where I just took any book I'd found and just draw the characters and their environment and animate just 30 seconds of a scene.

As an animator, you should keep looking for things to keep you motivated as animation is a tedious task but it shouldn't be. If you are a passionate animator than no matter how you'll keep coming back to the chair and take the pen and start drawing your frames.
